In recent years, the total revenue of touristy industry
has been growing at the rate of 12.9-16.4% per year. At the same time the hotel
room supplies grow at 6% rate per year. With the surplus rooms previously existed,
the average occupancy rate has been only at 55.9% growing modestly at 2.4% annually.
Up to 2004, China has 283,800 tourist lodging facilities
in total, out of which 9751 are one to five star rated facilities. The average of
